  1. Adoption

    God’s taking the sinful children of men into his favor and protection.

  2. Imputation

    Our sins put on Christ’s account and His righteousness put on our account.

  3. Justification

    “Just as if I never sinned.” God pardons the sinner and accepts him as righteous on account of the atonement of Christ.

  4. Predestination

    The unchangeable purpose of an unchangeable God. A predetermined destination.

    God predestined that anyone who gets into Christ will go to Heaven.

    Making peace, getting things right, settling differences.

  6. Redemption

    Buying back something that was lost by paying an equivalent.

    Being born again.

    Set apart. The act of making holy.

    Salvation is an event whereas sanctification is a process.

    There is initial sanctification, daily sanctification, and final sanctification.

    Initial Our standing with God.
    Daily The process of becoming more like Christ.
    Final The receiving of a new glorified body.
